A Series of Unfortunate Events
A Series of
Unfortunate Events is a Netflix series based on the 13 books saga, written by
Daniel Handler, under the pseudonym of Lemoney Sniket. In 2004 a movie was
released and on Juanary 13h, 2017 the series premiered on Netflix, with 3
seasons and a total of 25 episodes.
A few months ago, my family and I decided to watch
this series on Netflix by the way I read that 92% of those who saw it liked it.
The first chapter seemed boring to me, because I don´t
understand it well, but I found the characters interesting, I think the actors
did a good role.
The plot begins with three siblings who thought this
day at the beach would be perfect and fun, while they played mr. Arthur Poe (a
clumsy banker) in charge of their fortune and find them a tutor, gave them the
terrible news. The terrible news that their parents had died in a house fire,
beginning their great adventure. And becoming the Baudelaire orphans.
Violet: 14 years old, the oldest of the three siblings.
Very smart and inventor and every time she needs to solve something, she ties
her hair with a cord.
Klaus: 12 years old, middle brother. He likes to read
a lot and has a excellent memory and wears glasses.
Sunny: is the little sister is a baby, she is very
brave, she loves to bite and her teeth are very strong.
And together with their strengths they begin their
unfortunate travel and because of mr. Poes clumsiness who also coughs a lot of and
is silly, he takes them to his tutor an arch enemy count Olaf, who is a
terrible and evil, intelligent and cruel character. Physically dirty, thin,
bald, an ankle tattoo. Olaf wants to steal fortune of the Baudelaire orphans.
And in the whole series he makes their lives miserable, killing and torturing
the people who love them and helping the Boudelaire children. While, the children
manage together with the help of the VFD to be safe. Discovering little by
Little that the VFD (Volunteer Fire Department) they are a group of smart
people, that help people in difficult situations especially by putting out the
fire.
The Baudelaire discovered that their parents were part
of this organization. And since they were children their parents train them to
be part of the VFD and independent.
Besides the plot, which is very intriguing, something
that I really liked was that at all times they refer to Word meanings and the
importance of the library. Something I really liked was the way Lemoney Sniket
tells the story and in each episode he recommends that you not watch it because
everything that happens there is bad and cruel.
And the coolest and most original thing is the intro
since it changes the lyrics in each episode announcing part of what the episode
will be about repeating only the chorus of the song that is catchy.
My favorite characters were the Baudelaire children
and the Quagmire triplets. And the end if I like it, but I would have liked to see
them as adults.
And the best of the best was watching it with my family
and trying together to discover the mysteries of the series.
